Sacramental Preparation for Children

cic logo

Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion: Children in P3 are prepared for reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time and then in P4 for Holy Communion. This is done in collaboration with home, school and Parish. A planned cycle of rites takes place in the churches throughout the year over a 2 year period. These usually start in the Autumn and all children and their parents/guardians are expected to attend.  Enrolment for the Sacraments usually takes place after the children return to school in August.

Sacrament of Confirmation: Children in P7 are prepared for the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Parish Preparation Classes: Classes for Reconciliation and Holy Communion led by parish catechists usually take place as follows:

St John the Baptist – Saturday morning 9.30am-10.15am in the Parish Hall during school term time.

St Kentigern’s – Sunday morning during 9.30am Mass in the Parish Room during school term time.
